Success! Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Recap

 Last Saturday, October 29th, more than 11,000 people gathered at Tempe Beach Park to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Together participants raised $664,354.22, and donations are still coming in!

On behalf of Team Riinu, I was honored to be apart of such an event. It was amazing to see such a large group of people come together to make a difference. The event brought out men and women of all ages and from different backgrounds. Some participants even wore costumes, not because it was Halloween weekend, but because they were so passionate about the cause. In the sea of pink walking through Tempe, a few participants wearing survivor shirts caught my eye. You could tell it was an extremely pound moment for them and those walking by their side.

Although National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is over, the fight against breast cancer still continues. For more information on how to stay involved through out the year visit the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer website.
